School is school... let's move on from that. It ain't special.

I went to the Modest Mouse show yesterday with Scott, Matt and Michelle. Cass McCombs and Love As Laughter opened for them... for Modest Mouse, not for Scott, Matt and Michelle. ANYWAY, they weren't all that. The keyboarder for Cass McCombs looked just like Frankenstein. I couldn't stop thinking about the Conan O'Brien Frankenstein. I just kept envisioning the keyboarder walking up to his keyboard and looking at me and going EHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Anyway, they weren't anything special. Same with the other band. I didn't like 'em too much either.

But Modest Mouse...

OOOOOH SHIT.

They were really fuckin' good. I only have two of their CDs, but I really enjoyed the other stuff that they played off of their other CDs. I especially liked COWBOY DAN. They fuckin' rocked that song. Isaac was fuckin' deligerent... lucky. But they all played incredibly well. The really impressed me yesterday. I wanna get the rest of their CDs after seeing them last night.

Super Bowl Sunday. The best Sunday of the year. Always amped about this shit. I got the Pats, but I won't brag cuz that always seems to backfire.

once is a fluke, twice is a trend... everytime you and I touch each other, good things happen.

Arrive from Big Bear at 5:30, leave for Michigan at 6:15. Ready..... pack!

We all rolled over to Grace's house and got ready and packed up the car and we were off. Tina, Lara, Grace, Grandma and I drove up to LAX for our 10:35 flight. Of course it was delayed an hour. What a pain in the ass. And we got there so early so we could be prepared. I missed the ORANGE BOWL cuz of that shit. It's OK, I still won $5 from Daniel. I bet him $5 that USC wouldn't beat OK by more than 100, and he accepted. What a shmuck.

We landed in Michigan and my uncle and cousin Kayla picked us up. We then went over to his house and hung out for a bit. Lara and I watched LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE for no reason at all. It's a great show! We had breakfast and Tina, Lara and Grandma passed out. Grace, Aunt Diana and I went shoppin' at Meijer, which for those who don't know, is a supermarket+target+open for 24 hours= AMAZING. It's the best store there is. We then went to the hotel, where the Shammas boys came and met us. Shammas Boys= Joseph, Daniel and Michael. We caught up there for a few hours, reminiscing about the past and talked about our upcoming week and all. We went back to my uncle's house where is kids had returned from school and we ate dinner and shot pool. The great thing about Michigan is that everyone has a basement, and a pool table is a common fixture in them. It's great.

Thursday morning we went to Dimo's Deli, the best sandwich place ever. EVER. Mary met us over there. Mary and I have a special relationship... we just bitch at each other constantly, sometimes even slap each other. It's all outta love really. We went to see our cousin Mark and his new son Eli. He's a pretty cute kid actually. Half arab, half filipino... pretty sweet hair. Lara wouldn't let him go. We then met Tom (Grace's boyfriend), Marwa (cousin on the pop's side), and Jobe (cousin on the pop's side) and we went to the Pistons game! HARD WORK PAYS OFF baby! That's the new slogan apparently. Adel (the uncle who picked us up and hosted us on Wed) and his family (Diana, Chelsea, Nic and Kayla) came, as well as the six Dimo kids (Mary, Deena, Issa, Joseph, Daniel and Michael), as well as Ramse and Wael all showed up to the game. We roll deep in D. I bought some slick Pistons warm-up pants and a headband. The Grizzlies shat on the Pistons hardcore. They beat 'em by 21. Ouch!

The next day, Tina, Lara, Grace and I (this group will now be referred to as the CA group) went to the mall to look for stuff for presents for some kids. Nothin' doin'. I didn't get my jersey at all. No Manning, No Brady, No NOTHIN'. Joseph picked me up from the hotel and I went over to his house and hung out with him and his brothers. We showed up fashionably late to Adel's house and saw EVERYBODY. Afterward Tina, Lara, Mary, Deena and Issa went to some party. We met up with Mary and Deena's friend Alissa and went to some party on U of M's campus. There were five people there. We were six. We weren't about to double the size of this party either. So we went to another one. The keg was tapped, and so was this girl up against the wall. She was gettin' freaked up and down by some guy who she didn't know. Fun stuff. I was jealous. There was some dancing involved, some "let's pick up the drunken passed out girl from the sidewalk and bring her inside the house for someone to ID later", some bitching at some party crashers... ya know, the usual. The six of us left and went back to the Microtel, the best hotel ever. $59 a night for a basic room with a shower and two beds. That's all you really need right?

On Saturday we got up late, like usual, and went back to Dimo's. I hung out with the boys and watched some football. We met up with the rest of the crew at TGI Fridays and had some din-din. Daniel, Michael, Issa and I went to the hotel and watched the Chargers game while Marwa, Joseph, Tina and Lara went to get some beverages, while Mary and Deena went home and changed. We had a grand ol' time, until Nate blew it. Oh well Nate... no pressure next time right? We then went to Colonial Lanes, the best bowling alley. 12 people, 2 lanes, 12 shoes, $48! I won both times, buzz bowling too. I am amazing. Post-party at The Mic.

On Sunday the CA Crew, Tom, Chelsea and Nic went to some mediterranean restaurant. Joe picked up Tina, Nic and myself and BATTLE AT THE DEUCE started! The teams were Michael, Issa, Mary, Deena and Captain Champ (me) vs. Tina, Daniel, Nic and Joe (the otro capitan). It started off fast... First play of the game- Joe to Daniel... TD. after the kickoff- Tom to Michael... TD. Back and forth. 4 throwing TDs from Tom- 3 to Michael, 1 to Deena. In OT though, college rules, we ended up losing. Joe passed the ball to Daniel who was further in the endzone than Star Jones in a buffet line. Wow, my first Star Jones joke ever. I'm proud. So of course it was a controversial win, but they don't care. At least the Colts and mah boy Peyton worked dem Bronx. he's an animal. We hung out at the Shammas house for a bit. Nothin' big.

On Monday we ate at Dimo's for the final time. We visited Big George's appliances right across the street. The owners, Mark and Ramse Bishar, treated us like fucking royalty. Nice boys. We went to their parents' house and had dinner with the Bishar side of the fam. Ramse cracked out the hookah and we had a little grape flavored fun. Smells like Big League Chew. Mmmmmm. Mary and Deena picked us up from our hotel at night and we hit up Jimmy Johns. It's a great sandwich place that Joseph took us to the night before. Since Ann Arbor is a huge college town, there are places open till 2 and 3 in the morning all over. Now that's hot. I wish San Diego/Carlsbad was like that. That'd be great.

On Tuesday, our last day, we had lunch with the major shooters... Adel and his four family members, Joseph, Michael, Mary, Deena, Issa, Marwa, and Jobe. Daniel had to work, and I didn't get to say bye to him. BULLSHIT. We said our goodbyes and went to the airport. That was fuckin' shit. We got there at 4:30 and hung out there for 3 HOURS. Lame. We then got in the plane and waited 30 more minutes, then had a 5 hour flight, and capped it off with an 1 and a half ride back home from LAX.

I had a great time in Michigan, and I wish I could bring everyone out here. Soon. Soon.

Hey, I have some nacho chips!

On January 2nd... a little group named Tina, Lara, Deema , Dora, Lucy, Amanda, Ronnie, Peter and I went to Big Bear. On Sunday we took it easy, we all met at Deema and Dora's house and packed up the cars and went on our way. We got to Big Bear at around 5:30 and unloaded the three cars. We checked out our cabin, which was actually really nice. I went outside right away and fucked around in the snow. We then went to some restaurant that made you pay for refills. that's really the only thing I remembered. Ridiculous. We went back to the cabin and lounged around. Dora, Lucy, Peter and I played in th snow a lot outside. It wasnt' even that cold... just a boatload of fun. At midnight, Deema turned 21 and we all had to celebrate. Drinks with snow instead of ice is always a good idea! We stayed up till 4:00am playin' games... mostly a game called FUCK, MARRY, KILL. It basically goes like this. I give you three names, and you choose which one you want to fuck, marry, and kill. If you fuck the person, that's all you do. If you marry the person, you see them everyday, but can't fuck them, and if you kill them... well then they're dead. It is quite the game.

On Monday we went snowboarding. Tip of the Day: Don't snowboard in all cotton. It wasn't pretty. I was SOAKED when I was done. I actually went on Miracle Mile and Summit Run. I was proud of myself. Anyway... we then got some dinner and got some refreshments and had a little shindig, involving card games and EMPIRE RECORDS.

We tried to leave at 11:00am on Tuesday morning, but does that ever happen? Nope. On the way out, Ronnie's car got stuck in a hole. It was a front-wheel drive Buick, which means it's hard as hell to get out. We threw a doormat underneath the car, we threw nacho chips underneath the tire, we tried everything. We eventually rocked the car forward out of the hole, two hours later. We rocked it forward, then threw it into reverse and hauled ass outta the hole. Done and done. We all drove home and said our goodbyes, then Tina and I dropped off Lara and got home to get ready for trip #2!

So This is the New Year... And I Don't Feel Any Different

Boy have I been busy! With work and with Christmas and all I haven't had time to touch myself inappropriately! haha, who am I kidding? There is always time for that. Sometimes you just gotta... Sleeping patterns suffer, but hey.

Soooo... I got Christmas presents. Seinfeld DVDs, clothes, and my iPod. Yay for lowercase-uppercase-lowercase-lowercase.

Last night I had a few people over for the New Year. It was pleasant. I got to hang out with some grrrreat people, and I think everyone had a good time. Scotty and I didn't go to sleep till like 3:30. We were watching D2: THE MIGHTY DUCKS. Great movie. SOUTH PARK: BIGGER LONGER AND UNCUT was on right before that which is also a great movie. I guess 2005 is making it up to me since I had to see SIDEWAYS in 2004. Heh.

GO BLUE.

I've got the rollie on my arms and I'm pourin' chandon and I roll the best weed cuz I got it goin' on.

Shoot poo with Joel on Thursday.

Worked for five hours on Friday. I then came home and took at nap. Who takes naps anymore? Well I do... with some coaxin'. It's nice really. So refreshing. Afterward I picked up Paul from the dorms and we went to Phil's house and met Matt and Micah and Kelly and watched the infamous road trip video. It was funny as hell.

Worked for five hours on Saturday. Then I went to INDIGO JOES and watched the USC/UCLA game with Daniel. We then went to Phil's house and watched THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS. I then went out to dinner with Tina, Lara and Joel. We then wetn to play poker. When I say we, I mean Tina, Joel and myself. Lara played ASSEMBLE MONUMENTS USING RED, WHITE AND BLUE CHIPS. Uncle Sam woulda been proud.

Worked for five hours on Sunday. Then I went out to dinner and met up with the whole Ari family for Tete's birthday. We then went over to the other Bishar residence. For some reason we played the SIBLING GAME again. Tina and I dominated, as usual.

Slept at Phil's house for the last night. That fucking dog pisses me off. Throwing up on the fuckin' floor? You son of a bitch... get it?

You got to know when to walk away... know when to run.

Friday after Thanksgiving? A day for shopping right? Well not for this blogger...

I went out to lunch with Michelle and Patrick. We went to Pei Wei and shot the shit... talked about current events such as Patrick's brush with a girl with three fuzzy handcuffs in her closet and such. Michelle wanted to see a woman with five breasts. So did I. We went to Lou's and got ice cream at Encinitas Ice Cream. What? You don't know where that is? Well let me tell you. It's in the Target Center near the McDonald's. You must be asking yourself, "Wait! Isn't that a Heidi and & Swensen's?" NOT ANYMORE! First El Torito and now this... what is this center coming to? They are even opening a Quizno's where the Padres Store used to be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a Quizno's 1/4 mile south on El Camino Real next to Hollywood Video?

Anyway, after that I went to work and worked for 6 hours. Hell.

I then picked up Scotty and met his family from outta town. We went to Pala, and I actually supported the Injuns. I gave 'em $5 of my hard earned money. Scotty though, oh boy... Scotty cleaned them out! $30 went into his pocket from playin' roulette. I played video poker cuz all the other tables had limits and bullshit like that. I played Deuces Wild, and the bullshit this about this one was a THREE OF A KIND means you break even! Lame.

Saturday morning I woke up and Tina and I had our first basketball practice with our team. We are the Suns. I took the boys, and Tina took the girls. The boys were pretty good. They could all do lay ups and they could all pull up and shoot the J and they could all pass and dribble. Two of the three could even hit the three fairly consitently. Tina on the other hand wasn't so lucky. Olivia is on our team and she is easily the best girl. It helps cuz she is like a foot taller than everyone else. This one girl refused to shoot the ball two hands. She couldn't hit the rim from the FT line. Sad. Oh well... should be an interesting league to say the least!

I then went to work and bored myself.

Tina and Sam came and picked me up and we went to Deema and Dora's house and met up with those crazy Saad sisters as well as Lucy and Amanda. Deema suggested that we go to the Gourmet Bistro... McDonald's Gourmet Bistro! Deema got a steak panini and I got a buffalo chicken sandwich. Sam got a cafe mocha, and the rest of the girls got white trash Micky Ds. How uncooth. Lara and Kim met us there, but for some reason didn't get out of their car. They went through the Drive-Thru, Kim ate, and then they left?

We all went down to Mira Mesa Bowl and got our roll on. The teams were: Sam, Lara and Kim aka Jones, Lara and Kimbo vs. Tina, Amanda and myself aka Muffin, Amandaaaa and AC/DC. AC/DC is a name Dora gave me which stands for ASS CLOWN/DISRESPECTFUL CUNT... endearing huh? Dora, Deema and Lucy watched and cheered us on from the sideline. I got 111 the first game, killing everyone by at least 20. Our team won. The second game though, Lara felt as if she had to cheat. She brought out the bumpers. and wow... I haven't seen so much bouncing around since Daniel made me watch THE FAST AND THE CURIOUS. Hehe, just kiddin' bud. But seriously, you'd think that the bumpers would be there as a back-up, but I think Lara was trying to measure the angles and all of that and I swear she was throwing them right into the bumpers to see how many times she could hit each one. Long story short... I got a 117, along with little help from my teammates, and we ended up losing by 1.

We all went back to Deema and Dora's house afterward. The girls all congregated in the kitchen while I watched a bit of JOE SOMEBODY with Joseph, their brother, and their father.

I then joined the girl circle with little coaxing from Dora and joined in the fun. They were setting up a hooka... apple flavored. I've never smoked anything in my life. It was pretty good. I was inhaling like Clinton never did. Joseph and I taught the girls how to play poker... I won.

After our 30 minute goodbye, Tina Sam and I left and went to Allie's house to say hi to her. We came home and I slept... in my velour pants kids! YEAH!

Vids.

Videos I recommend:

Ocean Breathes Salty by Modest Mouse: It's deep guys. Really. and the costumes are cool. and the little boy is cool.

Always by Blink 182: The best video I've seen in a long time. I love the concept of it, and it's a good song too. I highly recommend this video

Video I don't recommend:

Blood Red Summer by Coheed & Cambria: I'm sure Lara will give me shit for this, but it is just NOT a good video. The concept really isn't clear, and it's just poorly put together. They could've done much better... but what do you expect from a band that made the video for FAVORHOUSE ATLANTIC

Zady's Small... in the Pants!

Thanksgiving came and Thanksgiving went... and shit happened in between.

We drove to Fullerton yesterday after we watched Peyton Manning and the Colts dismantle the Lions. My dad and Tina wanted to play the license plate game on the way up. BIG MISTAKE. I worked them left and right. After all, I have a slight advantage, having played for a week straight this summer on my road trip, after I did the same thing last year. I memorize what states each color combination goes to and all of that. Embarassing.

We had a grand old time sitting around and talking, but then the kids realized, we need to spice this thing up. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!

Zady, Nader, Tom vs. Tina, Talia, Ilyana, Olivia: Boys won 5 to 2. Flea Flickers and button hooks were key. Nader and I are the only ones that know the terms, so play calling was much easier.

Dad, Tina, Olivia, Ilyana, Tom vs. Nader, Amo Bashour, Zady, Talia: 3 to 5. Our whole playbook wasn't workin'. Nobody would pick up their players... my dad has a bad knee and wanted to be QB so he wouldn't have to run, but that just wasn't cuttin' the mustard. It wasn't a pretty picture. We mounted a comeback of sorts, but not big enough I s'pose.

Dinner was good. Two turkeys for some reason... one from the oven, one from the fryer. Mashed taters, wine... even though I didn't drink any, we still all had a good time. Zady's friends Joe and Matt came over and ate and hung out.

Zady, Joe, Matt and I played a texas hold 'em poker tournament with a $5 buy in. I won the first two hands and the 4th and 5th as well. Since we ran out of chips, Joe gave me $5 and I sold him some chips... so I broke even. We played some more and Matt ended up losing his chips and bought some off of Zady. Matt eventually lost and since the buy-ins ceased at 7:30, he was first out. I was pretty down, but I clawed my way back with some clever bluffing and some steady hands. Zady was the second one out. So it came down to me and Joe. I swear I saw a tumbleweed go by...

So we upped the blinds from 2 and 1 to 4 and 2, which was later upped to 6 and 3, then finally 10 and 5. Joe and I started out slow, checking every card after the blinds... I only had eighteen chips, and ten of those had to go toward the blinds the next hand if I would have lost... so I went all in. I ended up winning that hand, and decided to go all in with a full house on the next hand. I had more chips and I forced Joe to go all in with his 36 chips. He was lookin' for a straight, and I ended up winning on a Q high. Just like I imagined it to be!

That's $20 in my pocket.
